Banker charged in Grenada with three counts of fraud
ST GEORGE’S, Grenada: Finton De Bourg, CEO of Capital Bank Grenada International Limited, has been formally charged with three counts of fraudulent breach of trust. The charges were read to De Bourg on Friday at the St Paul’s Police Station. De Bourg is expected to make his first appearance in court on Monday.
Curacao refinery to restart unit next week
WILLEMSTAD, Curacoa (Reuters): Curacao's 320,000 barrel per day Isla oil refinery will restart its catalytic cracking unit as early as next Wednesday, a refinery official told Reuters on Thursday. Isla is operated by Venezuelan state oil company PDVSA. The refinery's cat cracker went offline last month.
Gay forecasts fast time in New York showdown with Bolt
CARSON, California (Reuters): American sprinter Tyson Gay predicts a pulsating duel when he vies with Jamaica's Usain Bolt for the first time over 100 metres at the New York Grand Prix on May 31. Double world sprint champion Gay ran a wind-assisted 9.76 seconds in New York last year while Bolt clocked the same time.
New US$80 million fibre-optic cable system for Jamaica
KINGSTON, Jamaica (JIS): A sub-sea fibre-optic cable system valued at some US$80 million, which links Jamaica to South America and the United States, was launched on Wednesday by Flow Jamaica at its Cable Station at Morant Point, St Thomas. The new Cable Station was also commissioned into service.

KINGSTON, Jamaica (JIS): The government aims to increase visitor arrivals to Jamaica to five million with earnings of US$5 billion by 2012, under a new initiative called 'Drive for Five', Tourism Minister, Edmund Bartlett, has announced.
