TOUR DE DOMINIQUE / BIKE DOMINICA
Tour De Dominique is a "in the works" bicycle racing/sporting event with many elements co-opted from major events like Tour De France, but tailored to suite the culture, environment and business attributes that are unique to Dominica, involving enterprises across the tourism chain – from travel agents to tour operators to local merchandisers and individuals and entities through the spectrum of the bicycle, biking, racing, and sports world. The event is hoped to attract many biking and sports enthusiasts and eco-tourism travelers/visitors in the Caribbean and on a global level.
Tour de Dominique is the brain-child of John Moorhouse, a Diaspora Dominican, veteran in the biking industry, winner of the 2002 Ford No Boundaries Athlete of the year and is the founder, Coordinator and rider of TeamTwentyFour, a biking competition focusing on 24 Hour off-the-road racing in the Solo category and other ultra-endurance racing.
