The Advantages Of Natural Treatments For Hemorrhoids
In the past natural hemorrhoids treatment was commonplace. Many of our grandparents and earlier ancestors did not have access to doctors and often turned to nature to help solve life’s medical needs. Lots of natural remedies existed for every ailment ever to befall man. Many of these remedies worked well, some of them not so well and some just sucked.
Since the advent of modern medicine, people have been convinced to turn away from the conventional natural remedies and rely almost entirely on synthetic man made chemicals. We cannot argue against the benefits of modern medicine, but sometimes a trip back to mother nature is what is most sorely needed to solve some of our problems.
Lets take hemorrhoids for example. We know from our doctors and also from our own experiences that to have hemorrhoids is not the same as having a disease. We also cannot spread hemorrhoids around like a cold or the flu. We may however inherit genes through our families that may predispose us to developing hemorrhoids.
Hemorrhoids can be described as a “disease of lifestyle” for many people. It is triggered by years of abusing our digestive system with highly refined, fatty, sugary and highly processed foods that change the way our digestive system is supposed to work. Our sedentary lifestyles and our replacement of natural drinking water with fruit juices, beverages and alcohol are leading us into very poor digestive health. Furthermore, our avoidance of fruit, vegetables, cereals and grains rob us of essential nutrients and more importantly natural fiber to clean and smooth out our digestive tracts.
Here is a list of nutrients recommended for healthy bowels and also for the natural treatment of Hemorrhoids.
Calcium and magnesium. These minerals are essential for blood clotting to help stop bleeding hemorrhoids. It is also effective for preventing colon cancer.
Vitamin C. This aids the healing of wounds or sores and promotes blood clotting.
Vitamin B Complex. Helpful for proper digestion and also reduces the stress in the rectum.
Vitamin A and Beta Carotene: Heals mucous membranes and tissues.
Potassium. The lack of potassium results in chronic constipation which in turn aggravates or causes hemorrhoids.
As you can see from the list above, that it is possible to alleviate the symptoms of hemorrhoids just by changing to a diet that includes more of the foods that contain the above nutrients. The natural treatment of hemorrhoids should be accomplished by using natural foods. I would not encourage you to try and solve your hemorrhoid problem, by using supplements. Supplements although beneficial should not replace food as a substitute to get the required vitamins and minerals unless the natural sources are unavailable. It is infinitely more beneficial to obtain the nutrients in natural form, by consuming them in the form of fruit, vegetables, cereals and grains.
