Over active sweat glands can be a problem to people suffering from it. Excessive sweating also known as hyperhidrosis is an extended disease that many people suffer from. Though all of us sweat, some people sweat more than usual and more than they can handle. Dealing with excessive sweating is a daily challenge.
Excessive sweating is a scientifically diagnosed condition affecting at least three percents of individuals all over the world. People who suffer from this condition normally keep the condition to themselves in fear of being laughed at or misunderstood by others. The modern individual puts too much value on social desirability and that is the reason why people who have this condition would rather suffer in silence and keep excessive sweat glands to themselves. Thus, not only is this condition a problem medically, but also socially. After all, we are but social animals.
Sweating is as natural as breathing. The body sweats in order to cool itself, get rid of toxins, regulate body temperature, and several other body functions. However, there are cases or instance when people just sweat too much. Excessive sweating can occur in the face, armpits, or hands. These areas are among the common victims of excessive sweating.
To date, many people suffer from sweaty palms. People who have this condition usually feel uncomfortable and shy away from the crowd of touchy people. Shaking the hands of people one meets requires at least a clean and dry hand. It is definitely a turnoff to touch a sweaty hand. Also, people with sweaty hands are construed as nervous or as having poor hygiene. This is a big downside. Sweaty palms are normally caused by an overactive nervous system, or too much caffeine intake. Thus, preventing it equates to a healthier diet and a slower or well-paced daily activities.
Another area where excessive sweating can occur is the armpit. Armpit Sweat is a topic not usually talked about in public. However, people do suffer from excessive armpit sweating. A malfunction is the sympathetic nervous system is the usual cause of axillary hyperhidrosis. Too much or too little exercise could also trigger excessive sweating in the armpits. People who are trigger-happy or those undergoing emotional stress are prone to this condition. However, this could be lessened by intrusive surgeries or by living a healthy lifestyle.
Lastly, the face could be the most uncomfortable area in your body to suffer from excessive sweating. The face is very much exposed to the public and people could easily tell that one is suffering from excessive face sweating. The face and scalp are home to so many pores that excessive sweating is very much likely to happen. Age and poor lifestyle are big factors. Also, people who are reaching the menopausal stage are more prone to suffer from this condition.
