Losing weight seems to be something that many people simply struggle to do. Temptation is really everywhere. One way we can address this is by becoming aware of the real effects food can have on us emotionally and physically. Food has addictive properties and many foods contain opiods that have similar affects to opiates such as heroin (although not as strong). For example cheese and dairy contain morphine.

If so you can see what potentially could be causing you to eat more calories than you need and also will help you address your emotions in a better way other than turning to food. Food only suppresses emotion and you don’t deal with it. This can lead to a cycle of overeating, feeling guilty and eating more.

When we acknowledge the physical and emotional addictiveness of food we can start seeing food for what it is. Food serves us for nutritional reasons and if we eat for this reason we can maintain a healthy relationship with food void from comfort eating and bingeing.
