Healing Properties Of Chamomile Roman Oil

Chamomile Roman essential oil is produced from Anthemis nobilis and is also known as English Chamomile. Roman chamomile is native to England and cultivated in Britain, Belgium, Hungary, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Morocco, France and USA. This essential oil is extracted from the flowering tops by steam distillation. The main chemical components of Chamomile Roman oil are Angelic, Methacrylic, Butyric and Tiglic Acids and Azulene. It is very light clear/pale blue in color with thin/watery viscosity. This bright, crisp essential oil has a rich, sweet, fruity-herbal fragrance and is divine, soothing, comforting for agitated and unsettled emotions as well as easing overworked muscles and joints.

Chamomile Roman oil has following therapeutic properties: analgesic, anti-spasmodic, antiseptic, antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, anti-infectious, anti-depressant, anti-neuralgic, carminative, vulnerary, sedative, nervine, digestive, tonic and digestive.

The wide range of applications include abscesses, allergies, arthritis, boils, colic, cuts, cystitis, dermatitis, dysmenorrhea, earache, flatulence, hair, headache, inflamed skin, insect bites, insomnia, nausea, neuralgia, PMS, rheumatism, sores, sprains, strains, stress and wounds.

Chamomile Roman oil is excellent for treatment of dyspepsia, nausea, anorexia, vomiting in pregnancy and dysmenorrhea. It is the best remedy for muscle aches and pains, rheumatism, headaches, migraine, neuralgia, toothache and earache. Also used for skin problems like acne, eczema, rashes, wounds, dermatitis, dry itchy and other allergies. It relaxes and soothes the nerves, digestive system and gynecological conditions. For babies it soothes an irritated, impatient, teething child and helps for colic, diarrhea and gastric spasms. It has a great effect on women to relieve PMS and is generally good for abdominal pain, gall bladder problems, throat infections, high fever and asthma.

Roman chamomile oil is considered non-toxic and non-irritant. However, it should be used in low concentrations, due to the emmenagogue properties and must be avoided during pregnancy.
