If you are looking to find a natural remedy for cat bladder infection, you are not alone. A lot of cat owners these days prefer natural remedies as a supportive supplement to prescription drugs in order to speed healing and minimize the impact of any symptoms. They can also work as a preventative by encouraging the ordinary function of the cat’s urinary system. In this article, we are going to take a look at the best natural remedies available for feline bladder problems.

The reason why natural remedies for bladder infection in cats are becoming increasingly popular is not hard to fathom. Antibiotic drugs, though effective, can have their own side effects. Natural remedies are not considered to be a cure for a urinary tract infection, but are a supportive therapy.

Homeopathic remedies can alleviate the symptoms of bladder infections, maintain the right urine pH balance, strengthen your cat’s urogenital system, improve your cat’s immune system, and treat common bladder problems like incontinence, bacterial infections, and bladder stones.

One of the important reasons why homeopathic remedies are used is that they can work to help to prevent recurring or future infections. In effect, a natural remedy can be used for both during treatment and to help with prevention.

Some of the well known homeopathic remedies for feline bladder problems include ingredients such as cantharis, staphysagris, berberis vulg, and uva ursi. These remedies are known for their ability to treat all types of bladder problems in cats and dogs. Since they are completely natural, there are fewany risks of side effects. As with anything new given to your cat, ensure that your cat will tolerate any product you purchase.

Natural remedies for cat bladder infections are often given two or three times a day for about a week. Thereafter, you can give a maintenance dose to improve your cat’s disease resistance capacity. Be sure to follow the manufacturers instructions and any guidance from your veterinarian.

You should be careful while choosing natural pet health supplements as a lot of them are of very low quality and are not manufactured under the supervision of a qualified pharmacist. So, make sure the natural remedy for cat bladder infection you choose is approved by the FDA and manufactured in a GMP (good manufacturing practice) compliant facility. It is also a good idea to see if the ingredients of the supplement are listed in the Homeopathic Pharmacopeia of the United States (HPUS).

Natural remedies for bladder infection in cats are usually meant for long term use. So, you can make these remedies a part of your cat’s regular diet. Depending on your cat’s age, size, and health condition, you can give an appropriate dose every day to get the best results. A combination of healthy diet, clean water, regular physical exercise, and natural homeopathic remedies can be extremely beneficial for your cat’s health in the long run.

Just like humans or other animals, dogs are also susceptible to diseases. There are many dog owners that hate to see their pets suffering. Usually when the dog gets old, problems appear. Around 10 years dogs tend to develop serious health problems.

The Most Common Health Problems for Older Dogs

Depending on the breed, size and other key factors, dogs will develop different illnesses. Some of the most frequent illnesses are:

–Bone and joint issues
–General reduction in the metabolism
–Difficulty with ears and eyes
–Kidney dysfunctions
–Liver dysfunctions
– Skin gets thin and the coat is patchy
–Teeth and gums issues

The older dogs also lose their energy and focus. They do not have the vitality to go around chasing cats or their owner all the time, like a puppy. They may develop canine arthritis or some kind of inflammatory disease. They may also hate to climb stars.

Only the veterinarian can suggest methods to reduce all the discomfort due to arthritis. Older dogs also develop cataracts and sometimes glaucoma. When the eyes develop a cloudy appearance and they reflect the light, it means they developed cataract. Glaucoma is also usual disease that increases the problems and it is serious, if you leave it untreated.

The circulatory system is also affected and so are the kidneys, heart, lungs, liver or the brain. As the dog gets older he is also susceptible to infection because the immune system is less strong. As its owner, you are the one responsible of helping the dog to deal with these problems.

The Ways for Overcoming the Health Problems

The only way to do that is by making the dog more comfortable. Pay attention to its needs and do not force it to do things it does not want to do.

Brush the coat gently and be extra patient. Make sure you clean its teeth regularly and also a good diet. You need to talk to the veterinarian about finding the best way to feed your dog.
Quality food is not expensive and it is the best way to keep your older dog happy.

By doing all these things you are able to increase its life to 12 or more years. It is all up to you. Taking care of your dog in the right way is the crucial thing in assuring it a long and happy life.

If your cat has a lot of loose dead skin cell flakes caught in his fur, you may be dealing with cat dandruff. Its not unusual for dogs and cats to experience a bit of dry skin during their lifetime, but its important to identify the underlying cause of the problem. Common causes include allergies, diabetes, poor diet, fur mites, and even sun burn. Here’s some tips on identifying the root cause of cat dandruff and how to deal with the problem for good.

Dandruff is loose dead skin cells from the outer layer of your cat’s skin usually visible in his fur. He may even scratch himself bloody resulting in missing patches of fur. The most common causes of cat dandruff are:

    * Feline diabetes;
* Fungal infection;
* Environmental allergy;
* Food allergy;
* Poor diet;
* Parasites including fleas, mites and especially the Cheyletiella mite;
* Low humidity environments;
* Sunburn

Four steps to get rid of cat dandruff for good:

Step 1: Take a trip to the vet to rule out a serious medical conditions. You are going to need your vet to help you diagnose feline diabetes, a skin fungus or to pinpoint a food or airborne allergy.

Step 2: Get your cat on a proper high meat protein diet. You may think your cat is eating high quality cat food, however, commercial pet food companies are good at advertising poor quality cat food as a high-end product. Commercial cat food is packed with vegetable proteins, not meat proteins. Vegetable proteins don’t help you cat one bit. Read the ingredients. If corn or soy grains are listed first on the list of ingredients you are feeding you cat vegetable proteins. You want a cat food product, preferably canned, that contains a meat protein as the first ingredient.

Step 3: Remove complications caused by a dry climate and sunburns. In a dry climate, your cat’s skin (your skin too) benefits by adding a humidifier to your home space. If you have a fair skinned cat, typically white fur feline, give her plenty of places to get in the shade when she is outside.

Step 4: Now for the parasites. If you ever hear someone talking about ‘walking dandruff’ they are talking about the Chyletiella mite. These cat parasites are large enough to see with the naked eye. They are often the cause of skin problems and cat dandruff.

You can treat skin parasites fairly easily, but you are going to have to treat all the animals in your household, the carpeting, the bedding and maybe even your family members. Use hot water and Oxyfresh or your favorite detergent to wash cat bedding, sheets, blankets and anything that you cat likes to lie on. Get out the vacuum and go over the carpet 2 or 3 times a week.

Finally, get rid of the Cheyletiella mite once and for all using a flea and mite prevention program like Revolution, Frontline or Advantage. You will need a vet’s prescription for these products but they are highly effective at controlling fleas and mites.

You can help your cat’s skin heal naturally using a homeopathic remedy such as Equisetum arvense and Taraxacum officinalis. The herbs are known for their ability to soothe your cat’s skin sores and keep his skin hydrated. Fucus vesiculosis is a sea vegetable used in natural remedies to support the thyroid. The thyroid is key to producing hormones that are necessary for maintaining skin and coat. You can even add a tablespoon of olive oil to your cat’s food once or twice a week to stimulate natural oil production.

So there you have it, how to get rid of cat dandruff for good by ruling out serious medical conditions like feline diabetes, making sure your cat is eating a high meat protein diet, adding moisture to your home environment with a humidifier and eliminating fleas, mites and especially the Cheyletiella mite. Your vet will need to help you to diagnose physical problems and to provide a prescription for flea products like Revolution. However, you can include natural cat skin care products to help your cat heal and provide long term relief from cat dandruff and other feline skin problems – no prescription required.

As a frequent visitor to pet forums, a topic that comes up way too regularly is that of cat dandruff. It’s a problem that affects most of us cat owners, and if you own a cat, it’s a matter of time before you have to deal with it. If you own a black cat, you have my utmost sympathies…

But fear not, there is a home remedy for cat dandruff that you can try without spending an expensive trip to the vet, just by observing the symptoms and environment and taking action based on these symptoms.

Most cat dandruff issues are invariably linked to 3 factors:

An aged or overweight cat with dandruff on her rump or tail

If you have a cat that is overweight or a cat with sudden weight gain and dandruff on her rump and tail, it’s a sure sign that she’s unable to reach these areas to clean herself. This is also a problem for aged cats that lack the mobility to groom themselves.

A good brushing would help in this case and it might be a good idea to groom your cat every couple of months. If you are able to bathe your cat without getting yourself scratched too badly in the process, then it would an excellent idea to do this every couple of months. But if you do so, avoid using human shampoos as that might dry her skin further and exacerbate the condition. If you must, use a cat shampoo and remember to wash thoroughly as excess shampoo stuck on her undercoat will only make matters worse.

It’s winter If your cat only experiences dandruff issues in winter, then it could be the result of the cold and dry weather. Worse of all, most cats like to laze about in the warm comforts of the fireplace, which rapidly dries her skin causing it to flake.

Simply move her away from the fireplace every once in a while and observe if the problem persists. Getting a good humidifier would be an excellent idea, both for your feline friend and also yourself (humans get dry skin too…)

My cat is neither fat nor old, and neither is it winter now! Help! Relax…if none of the above apply, just think, have you bought any new furniture lately? A new carpet perhaps? Check if there are any changes to her environment that she might be sensitive to and try to make the necessary adjustments.

If this doesn’t help, then it’s most likely a diet issue. You see, cats hate water and most wouldn’t go near it even when they’re thirsty. The only way our feline friends get their water requirement is through the moisture content of their cat food. Problem is, most of us go for cheap dry cat food that do not contain enough moisture content, hence causing her skin to dry and flake.

Make a change to high quality canned food and add some fish oil to her diet and you’ll see results in no time!

If you’re starting to notice lethargic behaviors in your pet that come complemented by the loss of muscle mass and tremendous weight gain, while eating and drinking a lot, chances are your pet is suffering from a condition called Cushing’s disease. Also called hyperadrenocorticism, Cushing’s disease arises from the excessive production of hormones from a tumor-inflicted pituitary or adrenal gland in animals. Given the abnormal activity of the glands, all the other vital systems of the body are drastically affected. Complications that come with the disorder include a weakened immune system that makes animals vulnerable to infections and other diseases. Cushing’s disease usually strikes in the degenerative stage where its symptoms manifests similarly with other pet illnesses. Pet owners need not despair however because the disease can be treated and this would allow the pet to live longer with an overall healthy system.

Herbal remedies have now become an integral part of holistic pet health care and are in fact being regarded for their overall therapeutic benefits. An alternative to veterinary medicine in the management of this pet disease is the root tincture of Burdock. Estrogenic activity has been noted in its extracts, which is an anti-tumor property that reduces tumor cell-proliferation in the glands. Its active constituents include inulin and mucilage which aids in digestion, in regulating blood sugar levels and in the process body detoxification.

Another effective anti-tumor herb would be Huang Qi. The herb is purported to contain various nutrients that heightens immune response against cancer. Its constituents which include polysaccharides, triterpene glycosides, amino acids, minerals, and flavonoids therapeutically heal various imbalances that may come with the disorder. Decoctions of Huang Qi are ingested to revitalize body organs, enhance metabolism, and improve blood circulation.

With all the systems in a living organism’s body connected in such an intricate manner, it is no wonder that herbal remedies and their holistic activities operate to resolve the underlying causes of disorders as well. Thus, as herbals are recognized to cure tumors, they can also restore healthy balance to various bodily systems. In the case of cushing’s disease, standardized pet herbal supplements have been formulated to address this condition. Such formula is available in every drop of Cushex Drops, a pet herbal supplement formulated to specifically support adrenal gland health in pets, while promoting overall physiological balance. By stimulating the healthy functioning of your pet’s adrenal glands, all the other components such as the digestive, circulatory, urinary and epidermal systems of the body will likewise endeavor a healthy route.

Over the years, many people have chosen to use natural remedies to treat all kinds of human ailments. Regardless of whether a person is suffering from heartburn or arthritis pain, there always seems to be some herbal remedy that can be used to mitigate the condition. On the other hand, finding natural pet remedies tends to be a bit more difficult. For example, if your cat or dog has dysplasia, you basically have a choice between using harsh pain killers and euthanasia.

If neither of these options appeal to you, natural pet remedies such as Flex Pet may be of some help. Depending on the situation, you may also want to try Joint Rescue or Old Bones. With the latter two products, you will need to choose a formula based on whether you are treating a cat or a dog. Fortunately, there is little else in the way of complexity when it comes to choosing a natural pain killer for your pet.

Typically, most pet owners do not realize that their pets may be in pain once they reach three or four years of age. As may be expected, this age also coincides with the onset of a mature personality. Therefore, you may conclude that your pet is not as active because they are simply putting their puppy or kitten days behind them. Unfortunately, your pet may be quieter because of trying to cope with pain.

Even though he/she may be as affectionate as ever, it does not change what is going on inside your pet’s body. In most cases, your veterinarian will not pick up on the subtle symptoms that indicate chronic pain. As a result, it will be up to you to look for possible treatment methods, as well as try them out. If you try a natural pain relief remedy, and notice an immediate increase in activity levels, you may safely conclude that your pet has pain associated with some type of joint condition.

Pet bird allergies are the most common forms of allergy that are pet related. This is probably because of the very fact that owning pets is a very popular fashion. In the United States of America alone, over six million households own one or more pet birds. If you are one of those, you have to be very careful because it may prove to be very harmful for your health. Following are five most important things that you must know about the allergic reactions thus caused.

What Kind Of Birds Cause Allergy?
Some people have the misconception that only a specific group of birds cause allergic problems, which is not true. The reality is that every pet that you may have at your home has the potential of triggering allergies. The adverse reactions are often caused by the presence of protein in the feces, urine, saliva, dead skin, or dander. The symptoms of pet bird allergies often include congestion, runny nose, watery eyes, coughing, and sneezing. However, here it is important for you to understand that these symptoms do not necessarily happen for everybody. The symptoms may vary from one individual to another.

Bathing The Pets Properly Can Be A Good Solution
Birds usually carry a huge amount of dander that goes in the air when they flap their wings, fly, shake, or preen. Therefore, it is undoubtedly a very good idea to bath them frequently. But excessive bath may be harmful for them. So, you are recommended to take suggestions from your avian vet about the right frequency of bath and how to do that.

How To Get Rid Of Dander Completely?
There is no way to get rid of dander completely because its production is an ongoing process for any bird that is in good health condition. However, there are definitely several ways out there to reduce its quantity to a much lower level. It means all you can do is to reduce your chances of getting targeted for pet bird allergies. You cannot eliminate the chances completely. If you have a pet bird, there is always a risk of allergic reaction. These days, there are high-powered cleaners available that can easily trap dander. Some high efficiency particle arresting air purifiers can remove particulates as small as .3 microns.

Overall, the only solution to save yourself from such problems is to keep things as clean as you can. Besides bathing the birds, you should be take care of other cleaning aspects as well. For example, you are recommended to use a fresh piece of paper at the bottom of the cage everyday. Besides that, you also need to keep the water fresh by changing it as frequently as you can. When it comes to pet bird allergies, your efforts for cleaning will make a huge difference.

Do you suspect that you have a pet allergy? If you do, you may be looking for ways to seek relief or you may be looking for tips on how you can manage having a pet allergy. If you are, you will want to continue reading on, as a few helpful tips are outlined below.

Although there are a number of steps that you can take to treat or manage allergies that are due to pets, it is first important to make sure that you do have a pet allergy. Visit a healthcare provider or do your own experiments at home or when you are around animals. Do your symptoms get better when you are not near a pet? If so, you may have a pet allergy. Determining whether or not you do have pet allergies can help you save a lot of time and stress, should you actually not have an allergy.

If you do have a pet allergy or if you truly suspect that you do, it is advised that you schedule a visit with your healthcare provider. A doctor may recommend over-the-counter allergy relief medications for you. They may also prescribe a medication, depending on your symptoms. Although over-the-counter medicines and prescription medicines are all great ways to seek relief from allergies, it is also important to know that there are a number of natural steps that you can and should take.

One of the best ways to deal with a pet allergy is to remove the pet or pets from your home. If you aren’t a pet owner, but if you have allergy symptoms when visiting friends or family, reconsider your choice to do so. Of course, you can limit the amount of time you are there or reduce your visits, but you may want to consider doing something else instead. Shopping, eating lunch, or having a cup of coffee are all great alternatives.

If you are a pet owner who cannot bear to part with your pets, like if you consider them to be a member of your family, keep your pet or pets out of your bedroom. The bedroom is the place where many individuals spend most of their time. The last thing that you want to be doing is suffering from allergies when trying to get a good nights sleep. If you are a visitor, as opposed to the pet owner, ask to move outside, if the weather is nice. You can also ask to move to a room where the pets aren’t allowed.

Vacuuming as much as possible is another great way to relieve the symptoms of pet allergies. If you own a cat or a dog, invest in a good, quality vacuum cleaner, namely one that uses HEPA technology. There are also vacuum cleaners that are designed for pet owners. They may be a good idea if you are suffering from pet allergies. Many come with attachments that allow you to easily get pet air off of bedding and furniture.

As previously stated, it is important to remember that you can suffer from pet allergies even if you aren’t a pet owner. If you know of someone who is a pet owner, like a close friend or family member, be sure to talk to them about your pet allergy. Of course, they will not get rid of their pets just for you, but they may take proactive steps to make their home a safer place for you. These steps may involve keeping their pets in another room or vacuuming before you come over.

As previously stated, if you do suffer from pet allergies or if you suspect that you may, it is a wise idea to schedule a visit with your doctor. He or she can prescribe medication to you or offer other helpful tips. With that being said, if you are uninsured, please try some of the easy and affordable steps highlighted above.

Todays current economic downturn has hurt just about everyone in one way or another. And if it has not touched you personally, then you are truly lucky and I hope it continues that way for you. For the rest of us however, it has meant many changes in the way we live daily and has affected us in many ways. No longer do we take going out to eat for granted, those extra trips to the store or mall, etc. For many of us, those are now are considered luxeries. But it doesn’t have to be that bad if we can accept a take charge type of attitude and learn to do more things for ourselves and our families – and that includes our pets as well.

Many pet owners really don’t have much money, especially now, and this ultimately will trickle down to impact their health care decisions for their pets as well. It is just the way it is. Here are a few facts. Did you know that the average Vet visit will cost you 150 dollars or more. And what happens if your dog or cat needs some type of surgery? Then you are easily up to 500 dollars or more right away. So, what can you do to save your money in the event your pet becomes ill and still be able to afford to treatment?

Here are a few suggestions to help you and your pet in this horrible economy, or anytime for that matter. First of all, keep all your dogs as healthy as possible by preventing injuries or disease in the first place. There are several ways to do this but here is the top suggestion I have for dog owners.

1. Feed your pet a quality food that is gluten free. It is also important to note that you need to avoid pet foods that have corn or wheat as
the first ingredient.

2. Make some of your dogs food at home – there are many sources online to help you do this yourself.

3. Try adding some raw foods in your dogs diet. There are lots of sources online giving loads of information about what kinds of raw foods are safe for your dog.

4. Learn how to vaccinate your dog yourself and save money on routine vaccinations. Yes, it is important to vaccinate puppies and dogs but oftentimes vets may suggest dogs be vaccinated too often. Save yourself the cost of the vet visit plus the vaccination by buying the shots and giving them yourself. Don’t just assume that you know the correct way to do this – have your veterinarian or another pet professional teach you the correct way to vaccinate your dog. Note: this may not be for everyone, especially those that are squeamish around needles.

5. There are other things you can learn to do as well if you are a do-it-yourselfer. If you can learn the basics of treating your dog at home for non-life threatening illnesses and injuries while using safe and simple home remedies, then you are well ahead of the rest. There are loads of natural remedies (such as black and green tea bags) and treatments (such as acupressure) that you can use at home and save yourself lots of money.

I have always felt that the best pet owners were the people who are the most informed. Learn what to do for your pet and then do it. It can be simple – and money saving too. Your pet, and your wallet, will
thank me too.

Domestic animals such as cats and dogs are some of the most loved and lovable pets in the world. And almost every single person in this country has a pet such as a dog or a cat (or both). So what are you supposed to do if you want a pet but have allergies?

Or worse yet you have allergies but your friends or family members have pets? You cant just stop visiting with them and I (personally) think its rude when someone asks for you to put your pet away! Well, fret no more! There are actually several different allergy medications available online for a fantastic price. . Here are a few options for you if you have allergies:

Nasonex is a nasal allergic reaction nebulizer for the intervention of seasonal and perennial allergic reaction symptoms. Nasonex helps remedy itchy, runny noses, sneezing and congestion caused by dust mites, pet dander and tree and grass pollen. Nasonex Nasal Spray is a adrenal cortical steroid presenting anti-inflammatory drug attributes. The Corticosteroids have been shown to have a wide range of effects on multiple cell types.

Zyrtec is an antihistamine. Antihistamines preclude sneezing, runny nose, itching and watering of the optics, and other allergic symptoms. Zyrtec is expended to treat allergies, hives (urticaria), and other allergic inflammatory preconditions.

Flonase can remedy multiple nasal symptoms of congestion, sneezing, and itchy, runny nose. Flonase Nasal Spray is for topical administration to the nasal mucous membrane by means of a metering, zapping spray pump.

Claritin-D is applied to relieve hay fever and allergy symptoms, including sneezing, runny nose, and red, itchy, tearing eyes. Claritin-D is in a class of medicinal drugs called antihistamines. It works by blocking histamine, a substance in the body that induces allergic symptoms.

Allegra-D is indicated for the alleviation of symptoms affiliated with seasonal allergic coryza in adults and children 12 years of age and older. Symptoms treated effectively include sneezing, rhinorrhea, itchy nose/palate/ and/or throat, itchy/watery/red eyes, and nasal congestion.

On these safeguarded internet sites all you have to do is a quick interview with a US authorized physician, and voila you can have the medicinal drug you need the very next day! These internet sites are nice as well because they aren’t some run of the mill site. They are really supported by not only US Doctors but also US Pharmacies and products as well.
