Some of these recipes are perfect to deliciously and colorfully accentuate your home. For friends and family members or other guests, you know that you can alter the ambiance of your home with a delicious - smelling and aesthetically pleasing treat. You will likely discover that your friends and family members become fans of these great recipes. Of course, recipes like this can be perfect in presentation, class, and most importantly taste when you are entertaining guests in or outside of your home.

The first fruit salad I want to mention is a delicious yogurt fruit salad, [these are of course, fruit salads that are primarily composed of fruits that are more available in the wintertime.] The ingredients for putting together a five serving yogurt fruit salad are simple. Just pick-up a twenty ounce can of pineapple chunks, a sixteen ounce can of pears (preferably pear halves), and a twenty ounce can of sliced peaches. Then you will need one-fourth of a cup of vanilla yogurt (you can substitute this with low-fat yogurt) and perhaps you can pick-up some raisins or nuts to add to the topping. In addition, and lastly, you will want to purchase and / or use my favorite ingredient: granola. Usually people prefer to use one cup of granola, but you can add more or less yogurt and / or granola to taste.

Be sure to drain the juices from your cans of fruit before doing anything else. Cut up the pear halves into small bits, (the size of the slices you make is your option to determine) also cut up the peaches as well. Mix all of the fruit into a bowl. You can add up to sixteen ounces of another fruit too, such as apricots, coconut, or mango. Spoon the fruits into five bowls. Unless you are saving some of the fruit salad for later, in which case, it is best to freeze the fruit mix before you add any other ingredients.

If you choose to add shaved coconut, some people love to add that to their granola topping. After filling the bottom of your bowl or other kind of container, sort of like a parfait, you will then add the yogurt topping and sprinkle the granola or granola mixture on top. You can also use to split the amount of yogurt or add extra yogurt in order to create more layers for your parfait. Some people choose to add a very tart-flavored layer beneath the fruit, usually a lemon pudding, a key-lime pudding or something similar.

The next recipe I want to introduce you to is a recipe for a wonderful fruit and nut salad. This is a salad made of a lovely combination fruits and nuts. Many people are becoming fonder and fonder of fruit and nut salads. As a matter of fact, even green, leafy vegetables have been seen in combination with fruits such as berries, mangos, and more – there are even new delicious fruit flavored salad dressings for these.

This recipe requires one large red apple, a large orange, a large pear, vegetable oil, white wine vinegar, honey, chopped pecans and large lettuce leaves for garnish. Slice the fruit, adding or substituting fruits is optional. You will want to make your fruit slices as thin as possible for this fruit salad, then mix the fruits in a medium sized bowl. Combine the vegetable oil and white wine vinegar, and honey in a bowl. Use approximately one third of a cup of oil, three tablespoons of your white wine vinegar and a tablespoon of honey (or more – to taste) in a smaller bowl. Then pour the oily mixture over the fruit, coating it as much as possible. Use at least one half of a cup of nuts (anything from sliced almonds to chopped walnuts or pecans) and top the fruit salad with them. The bottom of the bowl or plate will be lined with your lettuce leaves.

This recipe creates a delicious and nutritious snack for an expecting mother. This is a salad that will keep your baby and your breast milk even more healthy because it includes both fruits and nuts. These are two very important kinds of food to consume whether you are pregnant or not. Either way you are increasing your health, while able to enjoy a very tasty and sweet option to the other sugary temptations out there.

The next recipe I will mention is one of my absolute favorites, ice cream-like and sweet as pie, is the orange sorbet salad. Purchase two packages of orange Jello, you will also need a cup of orange juice, a can of mandarin oranges, a can of crushed pineapple. In addition you will need two bananas, at least a cup of miniature marshmallows, a cup or so of sour cream, and most importantly, an entire pint of orange sorbet!

Now that you have the ingredients, start cooking! You will find that this scrumptious orange sorbet salad is not so difficult to make. First you will dissolve your orange flavored gelatin in a cup of boiling water, add the orange juice once this is dissolved. Then add the sorbet. You will then stir the mixture until the sorbet is melted in the pan. Transfer the mixture from the pot in to a medium to large-sized mixing bowl. Add the fruit in to the mix. Chill the fruit and sauce mixture in the refrigerator until it is firm. You will combine the marshmallows (melted) with the sour cream and add it to the fruit salad as a topping just before you serve it.

Sometimes tropical salads just sound soooo good! The following recipe for a tropical kiwifruit salad will surprise your taste buds and completely satisfy your cravings. If you love kiwi, you will almost certainly love this salad. Just purchase six fresh kiwi fruit, a peeled papaya, quartered and seeded, cut up twelve little watermelon triangles, perhaps one-forth of an inch thick. Use fresh mint as garnish, lime juice, (one-forth of a cup or so) two tablespoons of honey (a key ingredient in great fruit salads) and some chopped mint.

Peel the kiwi fruit, cut and measure the slices about one quarter of an inch thick, in the same manner as the kiwi and the watermelon, slice the papaya into quarter –inch slices. Whip up the dressing ingredients well then drizzle the salad (or even mist or baste it) with the lime dressing and garnish with mint. Perfect!
